Fraud Alert: VistaPrint.com

Two weeks ago I ordered some business cards off of VistaPrint.com.  I had never used them, but they seemed to be a reputable company.  I should have done a cursory google search, because a couple days ago, I was checking through my credit card statement, and I stumbled across a $14.95 charge from a vendor that I didn’t recognize. “AP9*VISTAPRINTRWRDS US 888-243-6185 CT U”

It was obviously somehow affiliated with VistaPrint, so I called the listed 888 number.  I was greeted with a greeting that prompted me to pick one of three options to “quickly process your call”.  1) Enter your membership number 2) Enter your Credit Card # to which your membership was billed 3) Enter your home phone number

Doesn’t it kind of set the tone when one of the 3 options is entering your credit card number to which you were billed!?

After I was on hold for a couple minutes, I was able to talk to a woman who was able to pull up my account.  I said I had never agreed to a membership, and she said that I did when I went through the billing process at VistaPrint.com.  I told her that I had just gone through the billing process at VistaPrint.com to doublecheck all the agreements I had  agreed to.  I never once saw anything that pertained to a membership.  She responded by saying that I must have agreed to it, because a pop-up comes up, and I have to enter my email twice to agree to the membership.  Either way, she said, she could refund my money.  I went ahead and told her to do it.

What I didn’t tell her, was that there was no way that I could have agreed to the membership, because I have NoScript running in Firefox, which blocks ALL scripts, unless I specifically allow them.  In other words, there is no possible way that I agreed to this membership.

So, in conclusion, I would recommend that you do not frequent VistaPrint with your business.  Who knows what else they might do?

  1. This company will be reported to the FBI for further fruad investigation of withdrawing money from non-subscribers credit cards account that is on file. Do not order anything from this company or you will find yourself with many charges. This is a fraud.

  2. Please don’t use Vistaprint or recommend it to your readers.

Using Vistaprint could very likely lead to you being signed up to FAKE discount clubs and hundreds of dollars benig taken from you Visa/bank without your knowledge or permission.

  4. I also have been ripped off by vista print.
I found the charges for 14.95 on my bank statement, not knowing what it was.
I still am in the process of getting this cancelled and charges stopped.
I will never order from vista print again and will tell ANYONE I talk to, to never use that company!!
Sad when a business has to find sneaky ways to scam their customers.

  6. I regret that I too have to be added to Vistaprint’s list of ripoffs. Unauthorised subscriptions of 9.95GBP each to both Vprewards.Com and Clubprem.Com –
and absolutely nothing in return.Do not intend to let this rest. And will continue to let EVERYONE know exactly what I think of this underhand website.

  9. Thanks for the post. I’ve heard lots of people recommend using VistaPrint for business cards, but “free” always gets me edgy and I checked WOT| Web of Trust before venturing too far on their website. The same complaints posted/commented here were echoed by people who had found fraudulent charges on their credit card bill.

The sad thing is, problems with VistaPrint were cropping up years ago, and new customers are still using them.

  10. This is insane! I ordered as most of u some business cards from vistaprint, the total amount was less than $50. I just made the order. When the confirmation email came, the total amount was smth less than 100$!!!! I have never seen or heard such a total fraud. this is reaching insanity! I guess they would b also charge me even more each month for stuff i never wanted….People be aware on where u give your infos and card numbers. it seems its full of scammers out there and obviously they are way smarter than the system. thats why their business is still on.
